Special Olympics
My sister inspired me to join the Special Olympics community when I was 13 years old. Sarah wanted to be apart of the high school varsity swim team when she was a freshman at the local high school. This inspired an idea within my family to start a swim club that was made up of athletes who were special olympians and coaches who were varsity swim team members. Since 2008, the club promotes members to reach their full potential, encourages inclusive friendships, and focuses on everyones capabilities. I am grateful that I had an opportunity to start and lead this amazing organization for five years. I continue to volunteer at Special Olympics events around the Massachusetts area durning my time in college.

Best Buddies
Being apart of Best Buddies has strongly influenced the person I am today. I held multiple leaderships roles within the club from coordinating the first fitness program within the club to organizing the first "Spread the word to end the word" campaign as the role of VP. The leadership skills I gained came from the relationships I had with each buddy. All of my buddies challenged me to open my eyes to understand ways I can better communicate, see a new perspective, and live with optimism. The characteristics carry over to my professional attributes that have strongly influenced my successes.

Boston Marathon
One item on the top of my bucket list is to run the Boston Marathon. In order to accomplish my goal, I decided that I need well-rounded training, balanced diet, and continuous inspiration. For training, I have started small by running my first 5K when I was 12 and worked my way up to a half marathon a year ago! I recently joined a cross-fit gym to allow myself to be more mobile, preventing potential injuries. For proper dieting, I have joined nutrition programs where I learn the importance of balance and plan habits that work for my life style. The knowledge I gained encourages me to continuously evaluate my daily habits and adapt accordingly. For inspiration, the last 6 years I have volunteered at the finish line to help runners avoid hypothermia and dehydration. Being apart of this energy encourages me to stay on this path to complete my bucket list challenge!
